The article presents a research on the association of overweight with increased risk of coronary heart disease. This research focuses on persons partly independent of blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The study involved a meta-analysis of 21 cohort studies and more than 300,000 people to come up with the results. Relative risks for coronary heart disease (CHD) with moderate overweight and obesity were calculated relative to adjustment in blood pressure and cholesterol concentration. Results show the adverse effects and increased risks.
