In this article, we tried to capture the realities of the Romanian confessional schools in Beiuș during the Austro-Hungarian regime. The radical policy carried out by the Hungarian authorities aimed at the annihilation of the national identity of the Romanians in Transylvania by neutralizing the church and the school, the two pillars of the Romanian national being. In this sense, Beiuș was the favorite target of the Hungarian state apparatus, if we take into account the fact that the majority population: the Romanians, was aligned around the two churches: Orthodox and Greek-Catholic, supporting the confessional education that was born under their protection.
